I read your report on arginine’s negative effect on circulating growth hormone (GH). For years, guys at my gym have told me that arginine is a GH booster. I don’t know what to believe now. Do you have any more information you could share that might clear this up for me?

rest between sets

I’m aware that I should rest two to three minutes between my working sets in my key lifts such as bench, squat and deadlift. My question is if I rest a little longer, say five minutes (like powerlifter's do), would this be more beneficial?

My problem is that with new clients it’s often difficult to determine a starting squat weight for them. My question is, do you know of a way I might determine a basic starting weight for a healthy person that has not previously performed squats?
