The first speaker was poised and ready to go.
This was going to be good.
She had years of experience in the lab, the classroom, and the gym.
She is a PhD, a world class power lifter, and the daughter of Dr. Squat (who also happens to be a PhD in sports sciences).
I glanced to my left.
There I saw one of the other speakers- a 22-year veteran strength and conditioning coach in the NFL.
He was poised and ready to go, too…… to take notes!
“That is AWESOME!” I thought.
Here was an established strength and conditioning coach who had worked in the NFL for 22 years (with 8 years at top ranked collegiate programs before that) who was sitting there taking notes!
Talk about a powerful statement- he didn’t view himself as ‘too good’, ‘too smart’, or “too experienced’ to learn from others.
We could all take a page out of this coach’s playbook.
No matter how long you’ve been in the game, there is always something more you can learn.
It takes years and years of practice to become proficient at something.
Surrounding yourself with people who specialize in areas you are keen to know more about is one of the best ways to learn.
Whether that something is becoming a strength and conditioning coach in the NFL or a Transformation Specialist in MP creating a network of experienced professionals with whom you can brainstorm is key to continued growth.
And continued growth is crucial for a successful business.
When was the last time you took an opportunity to learn from those around you?

Is this continued learning aimed only at the trainers reading this?
Regardless of your angle of involvement (trainer, client, mp-body.com visitor) you can improve your level of understanding and ownership of materials you’ve been exposed to.
You should take time to go back through the readings, audios and videos that Paul and the MP staff have put together for you.
The more you go over things, the more you internalize them.
If a man who has spent 30 years at the top of his game realizes he can still learn and become better, how is it that you are confident you can learn and remember everything after having heard it only once?
